What is phonics?

Phonics is a way of teaching children decode words by teaching the way letters sound and so understanding phonics will also help children to write.

Studies have shown that the phonics approach is highly effective in improving young children’s reading skills.

Play Phonics

At Play English School we use our own Phonics system called Play Phonics to help teach children to read.

Letter sounds are combined with vocabulary and actions to help reinforce the sounds children need to learn. As a result the combination of actions and sounds really boosts student’s retention of the phonics alphabet.
